ORIGIN SERIES

The Origin series was first exhibited at the Honolulu studio/showroom of Tomi Bratland, a metalsmith and jewelry designer of Nature Metal Works. It was a joint exhibition with the designer where two different artists explored the same theme.

This Origin series explored various items that stem from the artist’s childhood and heritage. The rice field landscapes in Japan, hoshigaki (dried persimmons) you find in the winter, the ginko leaves, shishito peppers and more - all in which symbolize different seasons in Japan.
